Summary

Our TKT course is designed for teachers of English Language. It will help you develop your skills and enhance your C.V. On this course you will learn advanced language awareness and theories focusing on young learners. You will develop professionally through discussions and reflection on your own teaching methods. On this course you will learn advanced language awareness and theories, focusing on teaching English language.

On our TKT course you can choose to take the relevant Cambridge exam. If you pass, you will receive a recognised international teaching certificate from the Cambridge ESOL Examinations Board. You need to tell us if you want to enter the exam(s) 6 weeks prior to starting your course.

Please note that it is only possible to take the exam with us when studying an in-school course. If you are studying this course online you will need to take the exam at a centre near you. Please see the Cambridge website to find a centre.

FAQs

Do I have to take the exam at the end of the course?

  • No, you can just complete the course and still receive a certificate of attendance from the school. The course is quite centred on the exam so we do recommend it. If you are taking the course online and wish to do the exam you will need to find an exam centre in your home country using the Cambridge website.

Is there a practical teaching element to the course?

  • No, you do not have to teach any lessons on the course.

Do you focus ONLY on passing the TKT exam?

  • No, we also have CPD (Continuing Professional Development) sessions on the course which are related to other aspects of teaching, for example using music or technology in the classroom. There are also observations of teachers here at the school to take ideas from to promote discussion and analysis of teaching techniques.

Is the exam fee included in the price?

  • Course fees do not include exam fees. If you wish to take the exam the cost is £50 per module.
